As part of the process of complying with the Court’s judgment to reinstate Prof. Mawutor Avoke and Five Others to the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), the Chairman of the UEW Governing Council met with Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).

Prof. Avoke and the Five Others will resume work immediately, the Chairman notified Management. Prof. Mawutor Avoke, Dr. Theophilus Ackorlie, Mr. Frank Owusu Boateng, Ms. Mary Dzimey, and Daniel Tetteh, all members of the reinstated staff, were present at the meeting.

Prof. Avoke expressed his happiness to be back on campus at the meeting. He asked all parties to strive tirelessly for the University’s success.

He expressed confidence that staff would consciously uphold the UEW Statutes and promote justice and equity.

On behalf of Management, the substantive Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Andy Ofori-Birikorang, pledged support for the Council Chairman’s directives.

Prof. Mawutor Avoke was later introduced to the University’s Academic Board during an emergency meeting. He expressed his goal for the University to be a place of peace and reconciliation.
