A New Patriotic Party (NPP) polling station chairman was detained by the Tepa police for fatally killing his wife over a plot of land.

Following his unsuccessful attempt to sell the disputed piece of property, Kwaku Seidu, also known as Kukrudu, the Tepa-Danyame polling station chairman for the governing party in the Ahafo Ano North district of the Ashanti region, committed the heinous murder.

According to reports, he needed cash to pay off a debt and support his family.

The Danyame Zongo Chief, Nana Mazua, received a complaint from Seidu’s two wives who were upset with his decision to sell the land, according to starrfm.com.gh.

Seidu shot one of his two wives, Sister Adwoa, to death while resolving a dispute in the Zongo Chief’s palace in front of the chief and other family members present.

Frederick Nyamekye, an assemblyman from the Danyame electoral district, verified the events and said that Seidu’s lynching by enraged people was prevented by the police’s quick response from Tepa district command.

However, the suspect was beaten and is now being treated at the government hospital in Tepa while being watched over by the police.

The deceased mother of three’s body has been placed in the hospital’s mortuary for preservation in the meantime.
