Following a streak of four straight victories to begin the season, Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard claims the team is”creating something special”.

And the 23-year-old playmaker has said that the team’s “togetherness” is what makes them successful.

Odegaard has had a good start to the season and hasn’t felt any additional pressure from being selected permanent captain over the summer.

The Norwegian star has three goals in four Premier League games, one of which came in the weekend victory against Fulham.

A Gabriel Magalhaes blunder caused his team to fall down, and they eventually came back to win 2-1.

However, Odegaard has lauded the team’s unity for ensuring that Gabriel did not let his guard down and come up with the game-winning goal.

Prior to tonight’s match against Aston Villa, Odegaard praised the chemistry that exists within the team in his programme notes.

He said: “I’ve said a few times that we are creating something special with our togetherness in the dressing room and within the team we are really strong and connected as a group.

“Everyone helps each other, and as you saw on Saturday, when someone has a bad moment, the rest of us are there to lift him up.

“It was great that it was Gabi [Magalhaes] who got the winning goal [against Fulham].”
