In order to complete his transfer to a new squad, a football player skipped his own wedding day.

Malmo star Mohamed Buya Turay was signing a different kind of contract on the day of his big announcement.

After spending time in China, the international from Sierra Leone joined with Malmo in Sweden this summer.

Additionally, Malmo made the 27-year-old miss his own wedding because they wanted him to join the team as soon as possible.

Although Turay sent his BROTHER to take his place in order to ensure that the bride Suad Baydoun wasn’t left alone.

On July 22, the forward was introduced as a Malmo player, with Turay’s wedding taking place the previous day without the groom.

Fortunately, the delighted couple had taken creative wedding pictures before the star was compelled to fly to Sweden.

Turay amusingly told  Swedish publication Afton Bladet:”We got married on July 21 in Sierra Leone.

“But I wasn’t there because Malmo asked me to come here earlier.

“We took the pictures in advance. So it looks like I was there but I wasn’t. My brother had to represent me at the wedding itself.”

Turay acknowledged that he hasn’t met up with his now-wife yet.

He continued: “I will try to get her to Sweden and Malmo now so she can be close to me. She will live here with me.”

The forward is now wishing he would still be alive to board the aircraft for his honeymoon.

But he has a league championship victory in mind first.

Turay concluded: “First we have to win the league and then I go on my honeymoon.”
