Ceres 100 percent Apple Juice has been recalled from the market by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

This comes after the International Food Safety Network and the product’s maker, Pioneer Foods Groceries in South Africa, confirmed that rigorous laboratory tests found that the food contained a dangerous chemical called mycotoxin-patulin that was above the regulatory level.

According to the FDA, the majority of the impacted batches, including all One Liter pack sizes, have been successfully retrieved so far.

The FDA’s Market Surveillance team is working hard with the importer to remove all of the contaminated products from the market, according to the statement.
