Following his latest disciplinary breach, Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubmeyang has been stripped of his position.

Aubameyang is no more the Captain of Arsenal

The striker, 32, will not play against West Ham tomorrow, and it is unclear when he will rejoin Mikel Arteta’s squad.

“Following his latest disciplinary infraction last week, Aubameyang will no longer be our club captain and will not be considered for selection for Wednesday’s match against West Ham,” the club said in a statement.

“We expect all our players, particularly our captain, to work to the rules and standards we have all set and agreed. 

“We are fully focused on tomorrow’s match.”

Following last week’s 2-1 defeat at Everton, Aubameyang’s disciplinary infraction was said to have entailed his late arrival back in England from a trip to meet his mother in France.

He has seven goals in 15 games this season, but he hasn’t scored since October, and he was left out of Arsenal’s victory over Southampton on Saturday.

After former manager Unai Emery removed midfielder Granit Xhaka of the captaincy, the Gabonese international took over.
